This service includes the postage and handling labor for a USPS Flat Rate box with up to 70 lbs of iron weight plates. The plates can be either pro style dumbbell plates or selectorized weight stack plates. Occasionally this service may be purchased to ship dumbbells up to 30 lbs each. Using the included services and materials below are the ONLY way to ship heavy items in a USPS Flat Rate box in such a way to prevent damage during shipping because the carrier frequently mishandles packages. Despite our fee, this method is usually more economical than shipping common carrier truck freight with much less chance of damage or lost/missing freight.
This service includes:
Handling labor to individually shrink wrap each item to protect against damage during shipping as well as preventing slippage during transport.
Handling labor to fabricate inner box sleeve made from double wall cardboard.
Handling labor to fabricate shims and filler pieces made from double wall cardboard.
Handling labor to apply tape around all sides of the sealed box and at least half a roll of shipping tape around the outside edge to prevent package from breaking open during transport.
Cost of all packaging materials and tape.
Postage expense for a USPS Flat Rate box with up to 70 lbs of iron weight plates.
Full insurance against loss due to damage or theft, covered by a third party insurance company.
